It is the pleasure of the Greater Mt. Airy Chamber of Commerce (GMACC) to announce our 2nd Bull and Oyster Roast to benefit our Annual Scholarship Program. GMACC is proud to sponsor this event on Sunday, October 19th at the American Legion, located at 801 Prospect Rd., Mt. Airy Maryland. Please save the date and help us make the event a great success!
In the past, the GMACC has provided scholarships for students attending Carroll and Frederick Community Colleges. Students from local high schools or adults interested in working in the trades benefitted from the funding to pursue higher learning opportunities. The chamber proceeds of the 2025 Bull and Oyster Roast will be once again used to fund scholarships for our local community colleges. These scholarships are gifts from the GMACC for students in financial need; they are not loans to be repaid or salaries to be earned by performing certain duties. We are looking to expand our Scholarship program to include Howard County Community College, so we need your support! These scholarships are given to the Community Colleges to administer to students seeking to continue their education the trade industries, nursing, and business education. These Scholarship winners tend to enhance the local communities with their skills that they learned in the Community Colleges that they attended. Over the last 15-20 years, the Chamber has given over $100,000 in scholarships. This is an achievement we are very proud of.
